From Our Social: Hurricane Season Tips For Your Health

Here in the Sunshine State we’re no strangers to tropical storms and hurricanes. With the start of hurricane season officially underway, we’ve been helping our followers prepare all month long by sharing our favorite tips and tricks to safeguard your loved one’s health in the event of a hurricane.

If you missed them, you’re in luck! Here’s a quick recap on how you can create a personalized preparedness plan that works for you:

⚠️ Before the arrival of a storm, ensure you and other members of your household have ample amounts of important prescription medications. Pet owners should be sure to also check the supply of their pet’s medications.

⚠️ Keep an emergency kit ready at all times so you can easily grab it if you need to quickly evacuate your home. Pack medications, water, batteries and other needed items.

⚠️ Keep a waterproof folder containing all important medical documents for your family. Include each person’s allergies, medications, medical history, doctors, emergency contacts and copies of your insurance cards.

⚠️ Familiarize Yourself with Local Shelters. In case of a voluntary or mandatory evacuation, familiarize yourself with the local emergency shelter closest to your home that meets your family’s needs.
