Many time Asian, Hispanic, and African American patients’ choices for chemical peels are limiting due to inflammatory hyper- pigmentation. The Vi Peel® contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for ALL skin types and can be used on many parts of the body. The Vi Peel easily and effectively fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. These powerful, collagen-stimulating peels can take years off aging skin. It is best done 3-4 times yearly after the seasons or following a course of laser therapy for sun damage. Acne clientele swear by these peels because of their Retinoic acid component that significantly reduces oil production, acne flares and diminishes scarring.
The peels address various skin conditions including pigmentation abnormalities, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine wrinkles, large pores, and acne and are safely performed on all skin types. A combination of physician prescribed acids, TCA, phenol, salicylic acid, and retinoic acid create superior exfoliation to other chemical peels as it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, tightening the skin and shrinking the pores. Because the formula is uniquely self -neutralizing, it is extremely well tolerated, leaving the skin immediately taut and without redness so that the downtime is limited to the peeling days.
It comes in 4 strengths, so first- timers are encouraged to start with the Vi peel at least once before they move up to the precision peel.
This peel cannot be used on individuals with aspirin sensitivity or allergy.
What can I expect with the treatment? On a clean face I will use a solution to remove any oil that remains. Then I will apply 3-4 layers of the peel, one on top of the other until the skin is dry.
Will it burn? Because of the self- neutralizing properties of this peel, the sensation of burning is minimal, and in fact many clients are surprised at how mild it is. Additionally, there is minimal redness afterwards and most people go out to dinner or back to work without anyone noticing.
When will I peel? If the peel is put on on a Wednesday, the skin will look normal or a little tighter Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, you will start to peel around your mouth. Saturday and Sunday the whole face will be peeling. Monday there will be a little peeling around the periphery of the face.
How often can I do the peels? I think the best time to do the peel is at the end of the summer and at the end of the winter to clear all the dead skin and free the pores from the clogging nature of sunscreen. However, if you are serious about great skin and anti-aging then 4 peels a year are recommended. The peels can also be done sequentially once monthly for up to 5 sessions to really rejuvenate aging or acneic skin.
